Addiction, not just that related to alcoholism or narcotics, can mute our cognitive reasoning and response behavior. HEF coaches support recoverees in learning how to recognize and adjust exposure and response to external and internal addiction triggers. Our programs and community inspire a shift in mental deprecation, distress, and feelings of lack of control.

Behavioral Health & Mental Wellness comes from changing our responses to emotional provocations. By identifying and building a sensitivity to these provocations, together we can develop a set of diverse response mechanisms for the recoveree. HEF coaches approach behavioral and mental wellness recovery with the same three steps as those applied to alcohol/addiction recovery. However, our assessment for behavioral and mental wellness centers around understanding on what the recoveree’s mind focuses and obsessed and what thoughts result from that focus. We apply meditation, community engagement, and deep listening practices to uncover the underlying stresses in a recoveree’s life.

Resilience means the development and harnessing of tools that allow recoverees to deal with stresses and continue adaptive development, not just short-term recovery success or long-term abstinence from addictive toxins and behavioral and mental self-harm. HEF Recovery guides recoverees in finding verified, yet personalized tools that help them withstand and recover from change and triggers.
